Repeal the approval to drive on the beach from Nov.1 to March.31

Locals wait all summer long for clean, empty, tranquil beaches. Now with this drive-on approval by the Ocean City Mayor and Town Council, we can only envision walking over the dune crossing seeing multiple trucks in the place where you would normally surf, practice yoga, run, exercise, let your dog run free or just come to relax. Local residents come out of hiding to enjoy the peacefulness of the Ocean City beaches from October to April, Imagine trying to run/walk but you have to run/walk in and out of the fishing rods and trucks, going to surf and stepping on a hook or old fishing line all balled up in the sand, Imagine walking your dog and not being able to let him/her run free or your dog stepping on a hook. I can't imagine any of these. Will the town enforce the same drive on rules as assateague? e.g. Tire gauge, jack and a board to support the jack, tow rope. Where will they fill up their tires back up with air? speed limit? signs? Can they fish with-in 100ft of a surfer/bodyboarder? Car limit? Councilman Dennis dare stated "we have budget issues, so stimulating the economy any way we can, helps both the business community and the city," But how much money will it take to enforce everything stated above? Can't we cut costs elsewhere? Too many people use the mid-town beaches during the off-season. Please take a step back and reconsider this. Myself and others strongly believe this is a poor decision that was made on the councils behalf and one that shows lack of respect for the ocean and a lack of understanding of the area as a community.
