Ours is a nation that prides itself on religious pluralism and diversity, promoting figures who spread lies and undermine another religion are a threat to the common good of our republic. We must promote more dialogue and understanding so that our religious pluralism can flourish.

This looks like a case of sheer ignorance and blind prejudice getting a public platform.

We need to stop giving divisive, bigoted, and inflamatory zealots a public forum on the taxpayers' dime..

Every religion has a form of the Golden Rule (including Islam). This is a time in our country to live up to our founding ideals and for all our citizens to accept each others' spiritual lives.

I spend many vacations in Ocean City, and was planning on buying an apartment in there to spend future vacations with my family. Inviting this ignorant, bigot former officer to spread hate, is enough reason for me and others to rethink Ocean City as a place suitable for my family. I am more than happy to spend my time and money else where.

Everybody deserves to feel comfortable in their community. Hosting an anti-islamic speaker is anti-community.

I served in Vietnam and fought to perserve democracy and respect for human rights and dignity for all faiths and religions. Those who use the senseless violence of a few radicals to condemn the Islamic faith are wrong. Their ideas must not be given the appearance of endorsement by elected public officials who are sworn to uphold the American Constitution.

Ocean City has been a part of my life since childhood (I am now 71). I am truly horrified to learn about the hate coming from a place I associate with family, beach, and sunshine.

Religious intolerance is un-American. Having a speaker who is intolerant at a prayer breakfast, is painful. The speaker is entiled to his opinions, but should not be
afforded the public forum by the citizens of Ocean City to promote hate.
