The number of covid cases in Delhi is increasing by the day, and many colleges, like Hansraj, have chosen to move their sessions online till further notice. Even examinations for odd semesters for disciplines such as law are conducted online. But what about us, the second and final year students? Do we have an antidote that prevents Covid from affecting us? According to numerous accounts, the virus is not lethal. Even if this is true, what if pupils get into touch with the virus? They will not die, but will their performance in the exam suffer as a result? And, given the current heatwave in Delhi, is it even conceivable for someone to wear masks for 3.5 hours? Even this semester, lessons for several institutions were held in a hybrid format due to a shortage of infrastructure; how can we be certain that DU now has the capacity to perform offline examinations? And, given that 80 percent of the course is covered online, how come they want us to take offline exams? There is no single reason to support this rash decision that will affect the careers of thousands of Delhi University students, and in order to unite our voices so that they can reach the ears of concerned authorities, let us sign this petition and force them to reconsider their decision to play with the lives of thousands of students.
