I am so happy to be part of the wonderful community of Oakridge, but there is one thing that bothers me and might bother you as well, and should be address by the board. I am talking about our driveway!

In this petition we we are asking to allow the expansion of the driveway Pavers for houses in Oakridge from the following reasons:
a. In today's world cars are bigger, much more space is needed compare to the time when the neighborhood was built. The size of the parking that the developer decided upon should have been larger, but it's not, and we ended up with having driveways that are too small, too narrow and not proportional with the house entrance.
b. The driveway in most of the houses  doesn't allow residents  to leave the car and enter their  house safely. Residents find themselves often step on muddy grass, or trees roots on their way home. When young kids or babies are involved the problem is even worse. Imagine a mom trying to put her baby in the stroller. There is no place to the stroller other than in the grass. KIds and adults hardly have where to stand when stepping out of the car, which again force you to step on the grass (now think about a rainy day).
c. Oakridge neighborhood doesn't have enough parking space, as a matter of fact guests are forced to park on the street, which sometimes results in blocking the street. Expansion of the driveway means more cars parking off the street.

We see more benefits than downsides to the expansion of the driveways. We are calling the board to allow this change to happen, to move with the progress instead of standing in place. Some people might be afraid of a change, but change can lead to something greater. Join me by signing this petition.
