Remove two Bunya trees from Montclair Park in Oakland to prevent serious injuries.

Two huge Bunya trees in Montclair Park have shed their giant cones in late summer and early fall for years. These trees also overhang the path where hundreds of Montclair Elementary students walk to and from school every day. Cones are as big as an oversized pineapple and can weigh up 40 pounds. This represents and clear and urgent danger to the students, parents and kids at the toddler park nearby and other park patrons.
My daughter and I walk this path to school everyday. Last season, I was even nearly hit when a cone landed not more than 10 feet away. At that time, I reported the danger and the city put up yellow caution tape to warn people away. However, kids (and adults) would often ignore the tape and walk right through the danger zone.
It is time for the trees to come down. Please support this petition to have the Oakland Public Works department remove these trees and the danger they present to our kids.
