The new grading system at OLCHS needs a change. The 90/10, 80/20, and 70/30 summative to formative ratio needs a revision. Our students are becoming more and more unmotivated for school. We all need to speak up since our staff at olchs aren’t listening. Our hard work for class work/homework accounts to nothing while our test grade accounts to everything. We think this is unfair and is an inaccurate way of grading our classes. To you we might just be some other students, but this is our future, and college life. This makes us unmotivated to do/turn in homework or class work since it does absolutely nothing to our grade, and this can effect our understanding of the entire course. After a year of a tough and overwhelming year of online learning, the last thing we needed is a system in which our tests are our entire grade. This system needs a change as it’s unfair and inaccurate and we need our change now !We aren’t asking for anything out of reach or unattainable, but for understanding for our current situation. The school system is definitely flawed but we can take steps closer to creating a better environment for our current needs. Together we can make a change. By signing this petition, it solely, and ONLY state that the participant is in favor of the summative to formative grading scale (grading system).
