Kurt Lehndorf is being held in MIQ in NZ.  He desperately needs to be with his dying father but the cruel NZ government is not allowing him out.  He would be no threat, least of all to his father.  He is double vaccinated and has not tested positive for Omicron.  He wants to continue his isolation at his father's home with his father because there is not much time left.  He has been granted a temporary visit - can you get even more cruel?  To be taken to visit for one hour and then told you have to go back to MIQ, he is being treated like a prisoner.  How cruel for the father to see his son briefly and then have him taken away knowing he might not see him again?

There are probably hundreds of people now with Omicron wandering around amongst us without even knowing it.  What threat is Kurt Lehndorf to the community?  There have been, and will be, many others in this same situation.  Once they have missed being with their loved family member there is no putting it right, they have to live with the sadness for the rest of their lives.

In NZ now with the Omicron variant, MIQ is ten days.  Why can't people in the same circumstances as Kurt be allowed to go straight to the family home to be with their dying loved one?

This unnecessary and pointless cruelty has to stop now.
