Youth criminal justice system

Youth criminal justice system
The New Zealand/youth criminal law in New Zealand is a joke, my son for nearly 5 years now has been physically assaulted, a victim of theft, a victim of racism, verbal abuse, stalked, attacked with a knife and list goes on, and everytime we have reported the situations to the police we get the same respone they are under 13 years of age their is nothing we can do except tell them off, we aren't dealing with normal pre-teen drama this is extremely serious and im at a dead end with what to do? Wait till their of age to be charged and keep reporting assaults like we have been told? hide my children away to protect them? Be a upset mad crazy parent and take matters into our own hands? Myself, my son and my 7 year old daughter found ourselves in another violent situation with the same young person today, outside MY work, my car was damaged and I was threatened to have my head spilt open by a rock that was being smashed on my car, and my son nearly assaulted physically again while my daughter witnessed it all. I made another report, police came, took a statement and i was told again we cant do anything because of his age! I said to the police whats it going to take... the knife to cut deeper next time... the rock to actually hit our heads and cause severe damage, another group assault and my son doesn't wake up next time?
These two brothers live in Christchurch/papanui/bishopdale VERY well known to the Christchurch police, child protection/youth services has been involved for years but still noone can do anything to stop this and protect not only my son but all the other young victims that have been hurt by these boys, there are ALOT of other victims.
This needs to change now!
Last year two young men we know in Christchurch lost their life's from violence. Not only myself but others know if the law was different and if these young criminals were dealt with properly things could very much be different. This isn't fear and the youth criminal law needs to change NOW.
