Veolia is a transport company complicit in maintaining apartheid and the illegal occupation of Palestine. Operating in Israel, it links illegal Israeli settlements on Palestinian territory, and is instrumental in restricting the movement of Palestinians in their own land. Veolia has a contract with Auckland Transport which runs out in 2016. As part of the international BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) campaign against Israeli state terrorism, we call for the NZ government and Auckland Transport to boycott by terminating the contract with Veolia on the grounds that it is complicit in war crimes, aiding and abetting a programme of apartheid that violates international law. We also call on the NZ government to cancel plans to renew the contract in the future.
