Why this petition matters

Started by Pamela Hickey

Under the laws of this land ALL citizens of NZ are given equal rights, and our document of human rights assures us of freedom of religion, freedom of choice in health matters and freedom of speech. With the present parliamentary system our rights and possessions have been eroded and in many cases removed i.e. our water assets, our freedom to work and earn a living, our right to move freely about our country, our freedom to decline medical treatment without discrimination. Laws are being rushed through with minimal consultation and without the knowledge of most New Zealanders. Our democracy is in the severest jeopardy.

With the current political parties, decision making has become clouded by matters of racial background. The current regime has paid out huge amounts of public money for strictly racial purposes, with no accountability to NZ citizens in a language that all can understand. In 1981 we supported black South Africans in their fight against apartheid because it was the right and proper thing to do.  Our present government is now turning NZ into a divided and apartheid country.

With the new look National Party people are hoping for change, but while they may well provide for more debate on the issues and a stronger Opposition, they cannot change the outcome due to the majority currently enjoyed by the governing Labour Party. The next election is not until September 2023 - we are less than half way through. We cannot allow this Labour Government almost 2 more years of uncontested power to further advance their divisive and undemocratic policies.

I have not petitioned the NZ Governor General because this has already been done by others in the recent past. I am asking the NZ Chief Of Defence Forces to use the means necessary to peaceably halt all government action barring that necessary for maintenance, thus allowing time for all citizens of New Zealand to regroup, to review and to revise how they wish New Zealand to be managed in the future and by whom.
