On August 16th, former NYS Governor, Andrew Cuomo, mandated that all healthcare workers must have at least one COVID-19 vaccination by September 27th to maintain employment. At the time of the mandate there were 25% of hospital employees and 32% of employees of long term care facilities not vaccinated. Should this mandate come to fruition, healthcare stands to lose hundreds of thousands of frontline workers. 
Please consider signing this petition asking for an alternative to be offered to healthcare workers who remain willing and able to take care of their patients. Our healthcare system can not afford to lose 25% of its workforce during such a critical time! 
Other groups, including school systems and NYS workers have been afforded the option to have weekly testing if they choose to remain unvaccinated. Stand up for our healthcare heroes to be afforded this accommodation.
