I'm glad to have park improvements, but is there really no way to keep part of the park open during renovations? There's plenty of space!

This community desperately needs public space to allow social distancing as we try to make it through this pandemic. As someone who has been involved in community processes around building construction, street design, and a host of other issues I was shocked to see the total lack of outreach and community discussion on this issue. This park itself was a hard earned public space, fought for over the course of many years by passionate community members. Decisions need to be made from the ground up , not from the top down. Marsha P. Johnson is someone deserving of that kind of process, as someone who was deeply involved in her community. Shame on the decision makers who decided to rob a community of its public space during a pandemic.

The community should decide what goes on with their parks, period.

Hard to believe you would deprive us of one of our very few open spaces during the pandemic!

A park’s redesign should always have community input. This appears to favor only commercial interests and not the needs of the people who live here. Shutting off some of the only open space in the area during a pandemic is thoughtless.

This community worked for years to create and secure this park, and now, during the global pandemic, we need access to precious open space! This plan should have been made in collaboration with community representatives and scheduled for a time when the impact of its implementation was minimized. This did not happen and this is not the time to lose access to open space.

This seems totally unfair and stupid to close a popular park at this difficult time.

Coumo is an animal he only cares about the big developers and not the small restaurants and bars

This is an insane time to be closing parks!
