Andy Concepcion started this petition to Representative Nydia M. Velázquez and

Community watch and protection against COVID-19.

The corona virus although being slowed will eventually affect our communties in the near future. I propose a alternate solution with something we as a community can control.

Like many communities are dling in China, we can put together a community watch assigned to a specific area or block to make sure everyone is safe within their homes and dont show symtoms of the novel corona virus or more commonly known as COVID-19. This will offer a solutuon to a smaller scale and secure the saftey of those who need it.

If a person is showing symptoms of COVID-19 such as an elevated fever or cough these potential cases will be quarantined at home. We know hospitals will soon be packed with people and running around the clock so to releive the pressure these potential cases will be quarantined within their homes. The way we will provide or care for them until they csn be taken to a nearby hospital is by as a community getting them food and medications. We will have volenteer workers posted up around streets in case of emergency and to enssure the safty within the peoples.

These workers will of course be fully masked and clothed with cloths that will protect them. This will also be an alternative job for people that have been suspended from their jobs. This "community watch" will be for the specific purpose of the prevention and protection of COVID-19 from spreading within communites.

This sysem is being used in China in the moment and is in my opinion the best thing we as a communty can do to endure the safty of our civilians.
