We, the citizens of Community Board 9, petition the city to install stadium style lights in Victory Field.
 
Victory field provides a large space which hosts different activities throughout the day to over a hundred daily visitors making it a popular place for youth, adults, but most importantly it provides a place for community gatherings. Most activities are forced to be cut short due to lack of visibility after sunset, which decreases the number of visitors and can increase criminal activity. Providing lights can offer a safe haven for local youth after sunset, offer more opportunities in provide engaging youth sport programs for local families, increase visitors throughout the day and ultimately create a stronger community within Community Board 9.
 
We, the undersigned, feel that many beneficial opportunities are missed with the lack of lights in Victory field and we urge our leaders to act now and install stadium style lights in Victory Field.
