With the current Army Corps of Engineers' jetty construction project taking place this winter in the Rockaways, we hope that there will remain an uptown surfing area in Rockaway Park and that a surfing school will be allowed to operate there. This is a great stretch of beach that is mostly unoccupied even in the summer months. We'd love to see a surfing school be allowed to operate there. This will be great for the local community and NYC beachgoers alike.
