This team of youth behind the (Right to be me/Love is Never Wrong) social platform use their summer to educate themselves on the mistreatment of their LGBTQ+ peers and other members of the community, and to use this opportunity to not only open the hearts and minds of those unaffected by the targeted issues, but to also encourage the general public to vote in the upcoming 2020 elections and census, for the sake of their future and for the better of our society.

In this presentation, we hope to enlighten and strike the concern for the LGBTQ+ community in your hearts. This research explores the experiences of the LGBTQ+ youth specifically, not only because they are peers that we can relate and directly support as youth ourselves, but also because we believe starting from creating a better environment for them can set the stage to normalize that being Trans, GNC, or liking someone regardless of their gender isn’t to be ashamed about. Some criticize the idea of the community growing because in the past, there were less non-cis/non-straight people, but that is only because as we progress as a society, many have found the courage to openly present as who they truly are.

In our research and our cause, we include the thoughts and quotes of many powerful leaders and people today, along with the experiences of many members of the community. Additionally, we include data collected by organizations such as the Trevor Project, HRC, and much more. At the end of the day, if any of the following content strikes your heart, surprises you, or even makes you curious, don’t wait for change, “be the change you wish to see in the world.”
