Gian D'Angelo started this petition to NYC District 26 and

The roller rink located at Dutch Kills Playground has been without a smooth, safe surface for many years.  Local clubs and youth organizations involved in roller hockey, ball hockey, and inline skating are forced to play at very remote rinks or risky, haphazard setups on crowded playgrounds.

This current surface has been weathered badly, and has cracked and split beyond what's usable.  Roller skaters, and even runners (ball hockey), that get caught in one of the many cracks hit the hard ground quickly and painfully.

A smooth surface is safe, first and foremost. It allows patrons of the rink to enjoy it to its full capacity and - as it is the closest blacktop rink to any subway station within in the 5 boroughsthat community reach is wide spread.

We are asking for your help and support by signing this petition.  With enough signatures we will approach the representatives who have the ability to make this necessary improvement to the rink and have it enjoyed for years to come.
