It’s a gift to holiday shoppers — and a lump of coal for drivers, Staten Island and Brooklyn express  bus commuters.

Closing 2 lanes off on Fifth Avenue for pedestrians during the holiday season is gong to cause major chaos and massive traffic for commuters whose bus lines run on Fifth Avenue. 

The majority of Staten Islanders who commute to midtown already have an unbearably long commute and  this will potentially add at least another 20 minutes to the evening commute.  Instead of an hour and a half to a two hour commute, we will be looking at two to two and half hours.
