We, the undersigned residents and taxpayers of the school districts within Otsego County, NY, demand for our voices to be heard. 

To date, 28 states that had orders broadly requiring residents to wear masks in public have lifted them. Eleven states have not imposed mandates at any point during the pandemic, and some, including Florida, Iowa, Montana, Tennessee and Texas, have moved via legislation or executive action to prevent local governments and school districts from doing so. However, in the Empire State, it may as well still be 2020. 

FROM THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS:

"Cumulative Hospitalizations (24 states and NYC reported)*
Among states reporting, children ranged from 1.6%-4.4% of their total cumulated hospitalizations, and only 0.1%-1.5% of all their child COVID-19 cases resulted in hospitalization
Cumulative Mortality (46 states, NYC, PR and GU reported)*
Among states reporting, children were 0.00%-0.25% of all COVID-19 deaths, and 4 states reported zero child deaths
​In states reporting, 0.00%-0.02% of all child COVID-19 cases resulted in death.

We fully support the right for ANY individual to continue wearing masks if they choose to do so. Can you imagine if the narrative were reversed? Being told you CANNOT do what you feel is best for your child?! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

We have two choices at this point. We either tell the youngest members of our community what freedom WAS or what mandates WERE. Unfortunately masking is only the beginning of the battle NY parents are currently facing. The following bills are currently trying to be passed in New York:

4. A2240/S45 (forced Flu vaccinations to attend school, pre-school and daycare)
5. A8398 (eliminates religious exemptions) 
6. A3091/S3041 (ELIMINATES PARENTAL CONSENT TO VACCINATIONS)

It is time to stand up to our elected officials and let them know WE DO NOT and WILL NOT CO-PARENT WITH THE GOVERNMENT.
