As a Catholic I'm horrified at the ramifications of this bill. It is an assault on Catholics and all people of faith.

As a practicing Catholic, I rely on this privilege to make a good Confession. If this bill passes, it will not lead to more arrests, it will lead to less or no Confessions.

The confessional has ALWAYS been a refuge for the penitent. They know this is where they can safely go to confess any and all sins to a priest who is acting in the person of Christ ( persona Christi). The priest has been invested by Christ with the power to forgive sins, thus releasing the penitent from any retribution by God at the time of his death. This has been explained to all who would seek to change it! Shame on them for interfering with the relationship between man and God!! We faithful Catholics have known since we were 7 that God would forgive our sins through the power He invests in Catholic priests. This has Scriptural roots! It also Is our Constitutional right to freedom of religion.

No government should not be involved in any of the sacraments in the Catholic Church.
