NMBI -English Language exemption
This petition had 14 supporters
This petition is to add a language exemption to get registration within Ireland as a Nurse.
The applicants who completed a full-time recognised university degree or Masters in Ireland should get language exemption (IELTS) because of the following reasons.
1. They live in Ireland for years to get a full time degree.
2. The medium of instruction, assessments, and exams are in English. Unless they perform well, they won't be awarded a degree.
3. It is unfair, that the nurses who are trained in EU are not asked for IELTS and the nurses who are living in Ireland for years are still asked to provide IELTS to get registration with NMBI even after they complete a full time postgraduate degree here.
Please consider this petition and please make the necessary changes. If the employer wants to check the English language ability of an applicant, let them decide it while they interview the nurses.
