Hi. I would like to start a petition and hopefully it will reach our local US representatives. Nurses are overworked, underpaid and under respected. Our salary is barely keeping us afloat, our emotional strength are wearing thin. We are forced to work another job in order to make ends meet. Working  in a non nursing capacity gives more pay. It meets the need for the rising inflation rate.A lot of my colleague  are working on retail, grocery stores, waitressing on their days off  sacrificing and absolutely affecting family time and more than likely will end up in breakdown of a family unit. We are saving lives while we also are falling apart. If our legislators will take a minute of their time and looked at closely why none of the new generations are going for nursing school, because they have seen their dad or mom working multiple jobs just to give them the very basic. No amount of full ride scholarship to nursing school will convince even my own daughter to take nursing. She was front and center in my struggle to survive as a nurse.
