Middletown will always be my home no matter how far away I am. This place should 1000000% be kept as a home for the arts and the residents

I raise a daughter across the street from this building (the Arts building at 51 Green St.), and my heart hurts thinking about what would happen in this neighborhood if Mayor Drew allows this beautiful arts building to be gutted and turned into a soup kitchen. We find enough needles on the ground in this neighborhood as it is. For those of you who don’t know, the only playground on this side of the north end is behind that building. Middletown has Artists and great supporters of the Arts stepping up to help save this gem for the children. Middletown’s residents were never given the chance of saving this building and making it sustainable Until now. I can only pray the right decision is made. My heart goes out to the City of Middletown to choose wisely.

I sign this because I am a parent who has benefited from the GSAC but more importantly suffered as a result of its closure

The citizens of Middletown are working together to save this building for the sake of our children and our community. It is a shame that the decision makers of the City of Middletown are so ready to hand over this building formatted for the arts, to be turned into offices. We have had to watch Green St be underutilized with no sustainable plan for success in position, and now the community finally has it’s chance to come together to save it! Please, don’t overlook your own peoples’ needs! Amen
