Dockley Road Action Group started this petition to Nuffield College

Nuffield College Oxford University owns the Dockley Road industrial estate land. Small business owners have already been moved out - costing jobs. Developers now want to build 111 flats, 9 storeys high, most of them meeting only minimum size requirements and nearly half of them with less than the recommended amenity area. Residents in the new block will have small and dark accommodation and social housing tenants will be put low down, below the railway. They will have very limited daylight. Social housing also makes up less than the required 35% of the building until factoring in 10 disabled rooms to achieve the social housing quota.

Surrounding housing will have severely reduced access to daylight, including some on the lower floors requiring artificial light throughout the whole day.

The Spa Terminus market will also be in darkness and behind a giant 111 unit modern residential block.

Help us to encourage Oxford to only sell the land to a developer offering to build good quality housing, fit for residents regardless of income with a larger proportion of social housing provided.
