Dear  NSW Premier and NSW Health Minister,

This is further to my letters to you dated June 29th, 2015, and 23th February 2016, regarding South West Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), plans to privatize The Miller HUB Community Health Centre, in Miller, New South Wales (NSW).

I/WE, am extremely disappointed that you have completely ignored all of our requests and thousands of other local resident’s letters (2168) requesting you to intervene and put an immediate stop to this outrageous decision to privatize the Miller HUB.

All 41, 912 residents and stakeholders including Liverpool City Council do not support you or your process to privatise the Miller HUB, this is to despite our best efforts, in communicating our views via community meetings newspaper articles in local media and thousands of letters, from members of the local community’s that don’t support your process of PRIVATISATION our community services.
SWSLHD, headed by Chief Executive, Ms. Amanda Larkin, has continuously failed to listen to the local community and to acknowledge our wishes.

The HUB Community Health Centre is located amongst the most disadvantaged areas in NSW. Over the past sixteen years, it has significantly contributed to improving the poor health status of the local community, reducing noticeable alcohol and drug use, mental health and other health problems associated with unemployment and general wellbeing.

Privatizing the current HUB, will further place the already fragile community and will be viewed by those member of the community to be an extremely ‘bad’ public policy!
Your government back flipped on the Greyhound Issue; you can do the same by not privatising The HUB Community Health Community Centre, in Miller. If you do not act now, community anger will be shown at next year’s state election which will lead to massive swings against the government and a further loss of seats in South West Sydney.

South West Sydney is the fastest growing region in NSW. According to SWSLHD own figures, by 2021, the total population of the area will exceed to be one million people with 48 percent of residents over 65 years. To responsibly address this along with other complex health inequalities, of the current population, the government must continue to invest in preventative health measures including retaining and better resource community health centres such as The HUB, in Miller, to keep people healthy and out of hospital. The solution should NOT be PRIVATISATION.

I/we would like to remind you that the community own the HUB. Hence, I/we urge you, to immediately step to save our community, and your government, before the upcoming state election.
