Overturn the NSW Government's decision to ban greyhound racing
This petition had 12,690 supporters
NSW Premier Mike Baird and Racing Minister Troy Grant announced on July 7 that greyhound racing would be shut down in the state. This decision has been made without proper consultation, including many key stakeholders being left out of the process.
We are urging the NSW Government to reconsider their position on our great sport. For the vast majority of us it is not about money or glory it is about the bond we share with greyhounds.
We are the first people to acknowledge there have been some horrible wrongs, including live baiting and cases of animal cruelty, but to shut down the entire industry, to the detriment of 1000s is ridiculous.
Whether you are a participant, a racing fan, or someone who sympathises with over 10,000 people being out of a job, we ask for your support.
