Save small businesses in Westmead from demolition to make way for Light Rail.

We, the undersigned, respectfully call on the Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian, and the NSW Cabinet, to reconsider their decision to forcibly acquire and demolish the busy local business arcade at 149 Hawkesbury Rd, Westmead.

149 Hawkesbury Rd is home to a wonderful group of 7 small businesses serving the Westmead Community.

These 7 businesses are being forced to give up their premises, only to allow a power substation that requires 10% of the total building area.

None of these established businesses have been able to find replacement premises within the busy medical precinct of Westmead.

The community are understandably angry and dismayed that they are losing their local professional services, to what many see as an unnecessary development for this area.

We, the undersigned concerned citizens of NSW, believe this is an unnecessary forced acquisition of the local business premises.

Please sign our petition and help us fight to keep our local businesses where they should be!
