Save Ray McCormack Reserve

Canterbury Bankstown Council has approved the 2015 Local Area Plans which propose the sale of 20 community parks including Ray McCormack Reserve in Revesby. This leafy little park located behind the YMCA is used by residents to walk their dogs, access the station and for quiet reflection. It is home to a number of old remnant bushland trees including Woollybutts, Melaleucas and a beautiful old Grey Box. Despite Ray McCormack being highly valued by the local community, and representing a haven for Bankstown's Biodiversity, council want to rezone it for high rise. Our local federal member Mr. David Coleman has requested that the NSW Minister for Planning the Hon. Anthony Roberts reject these Local Area Plans and require the newly amalgamated Canterbury Bankstown Council to resubmit them after this Septembers’ council elections. I respectfully request that you seriously consider his proposal.
