Science and history have proven, time and time again, that mines leach dangerous levels of chemicals into any nearby water supplies and lands. This mine will contaminate Sydney residents water reservoirs and lands. It is yet another example of the current governments protections and support of mining companies, no matter how detrimental to the Australian public.

I live in Russell Vale with my two young children. One of which struggles with allergies due to the dust and pollution caused by the coal excess coal pile 200 metres from our home. I am concerned about the health of my family and our safety of our water.

There is no need to expand coal mining further. We must stop mining fossil fuels, not expand mining operations. Nature should be for all, not for mining fossil fuels.

This should be stopped. The escarpment is a wonderland for generations of children and should be protected. Trail running and Mountain Biking have made generations of Illawarra kids fit and strong!!

Mining in this way is only for greed - short term personal gain. Our environment and water should not be put at risk for someone else’s financial gain.

I am concerned about the impact on the environment and water pollution. I strongly believe that we should do all we can to preserve our natural heritage. I believe that the escarpment, like our beaches, is a precious natural resource to be enjoyed by all people.
