Planning for a new Hamilton/Meadowpark gym and school entrance began in 2009 and was completed in September 2012 as a joint venture between the Novato School District and the City of Novato.  

Yet, there is still no sidewalk for the pedestrians who daily walk the stretch in front of the school and the Head Start program located between Bolling Drive and Nave Drive.

A sidewalk in front of the school has now been nearly five-years in planning.  

Users of the gym/school are now parking along the frontage road, which pushes pedestrians to walk in the bike lane, closer to the fast-moving traffic along Nave Drive.

A recent vehicle collision near the school's entrance highlights the danger of pedestrians walking on the shoulder of the road.

As residents of Novato, we are asking the City Council to make completion of a sidewalk, lighting and safe vehicle parking on Nave Drive the highest priority.
