Get Nova Scotia Power to leave the water in Aylesford / Loon Lake until October.

Nova Scotia Power has been draining (approx. 4 feet) Aylesford and Loon Lake for years starting on the Tuesday right after the September 1st long weekend. As far as I know this is so they can start producing cheaper power from the dams along the power/water system that Aylesford and Loon lake feeds. Last year however they left the water at normal levels until the first of October. As many of us enjoyed the extended use of the water all through September with beautiful temperatures. I personally swam and boated every weekend in September. I also seen many people out with their boats and families enjoying the water. This is the first time in a long time that we all have been able to enjoy September on the water. I have asked the many long time residents around the lake why NS Power has to drop the levels so early and why they can't wait until October every year. I have heard many mixed stories that have come from NS Power over the years. If you have property, or visit the public beach and or boat on Aylesford or Loon lake sign the petition and maybe with all of our NS Power bills and tax paying dollars together we can ask NS Power to leave the water levels in for just 4 extra weeks every year. Thanks Scott Redden
