This petition is to support the NEW international students who are coming to Canada "for the 1st time" to begin their studies.

How is their arrival any different than people coming into Canada on different statuses such as "Visitor Visa", "Permanent Residency" and "Canadian Citizens"?

They can quarantine at the place of their choice but International Students are forced to quarantine at 2 specific locations -

Atlantica Hotel - 1980 Robie St, Halifax, NS B3H 3J5 (1450$, Laundry is 5$ per load)

DoubleTree by Hilton Halifax Dartmouth - 101 Wyse Road Dartmouth, NS B3A 1L9 (1950$, Laundry is 15$ per bag)

How is this affordable by any means? Please stop this discrimination against International Students, not all students come from a rich family. They have student loans to pay too. Most come here to have better career choices, if they decide to stay here or when they go back to their home country. Most work surviving jobs to support their living expenses. Pretty visible throughout the province.

Considering the times we are living in, everybody is going through tough times but do not make it worse for the International Students who were planning to be a part of this wonderful Country and Community and have plans to grow together.

Atlantica Hotel quarantine package: $1450.00 inclusive of 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) per person. All taxes are included. If a family member is sharing the room with you, contact the hotel for information about the room price. Atlantica is a NON-SMOKING hotel.
