The bouncers employed by Rock City and Stealth nightclubs in Nottingham continue to use physical violence against students when questioned about their discriminatory behaviour and verbal abuse. There are multiple videos of these bouncers throwing people to the ground, kicking, punching and dragging young adults outside of these nightclubs, leaving severe injuries for no valid reason. When you ask their name or to speak to their manager, they refuse and turn to physical aggression. The police are aware of the dozens of complaints made against these bouncers yet are refusing to do anything to stop it. Bouncers at nightclubs are there to help people, such as myself, feel safe on a night out, yet these bouncers are creating the most fear among students. These particular bouncers have a bad reputation as it is and the increase in their use of violence in recent weeks has exacerbated this fear. This is assault and were it the other way around, action would be taken against us immediately by the police. Their behaviour is completely unwarranted and morally wrong and we are calling for their actions to be reprimanded. They are unsafe individuals who should not be working in a job designed to make people feel safe and police action should be taken accordingly.
