Timothy Meadows started this petition to Nottingham City Council

I work for a bar and restaurant, in Nottingham city centre. Hospitality as a whole is struggling at the moment with supplier shortages, staff shortages and getting buildings and work places back up to a good condition after lengthy lock down. As with all city centres, Nottinghams' is slowly disappearing.

Combined with above, a national shortage of hgv drivers and delivery drivers, has only exasperated the problem. Gone are the days of pre 10am deliveries. Most businesses are lucky to receive a delivery at the moment. To add insult to injury, every single driver receives a parking ticket for delivering goods to a business, many get multiple tickets for 1 delivery or 1 job attended at a site. Many of the drivers have to pay these themselves, resulting fewer drivers wanting to do the job or hesitant to deliver to our bars, restaurants and shops. These deliveries keep businesses working, shops stocked and people in work and are vital to our local economy.

My proposal is ask Nottingham city Council to ease/change parking restrictions and loading bay times, to accommodate these weird and strange times we live in. Hopefully allowing quicker delivery times and encouraging rather than discouraging delivery drivers back into the industry.

If you agree and want to apply the pressure on the council. Please sign below.
