Not to merge JEE Mains and NEET with CUET

Not to merge JEE Mains and NEET with CUET
Why this petition matters
The University Grants Commission is working on a proposal to integrate the engineering and medical entrances into the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG).
UGC chairperson M Jagadesh Kumar has told that as per the proposal, instead of appearing for the four subjects — mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology — in three entrance exams, students can take the exam once and be eligible for and explore different fields of study. The higher education regulator is working out a committee to deliberate with different stakeholders to reach a consensus.
The engineering entrance ‘Joint Entrance Examination (Main)’, medical entrance ‘National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate’ and now CUET-UG make up the three major entrance exams in the country, taken by close to 43 lakh aspirants. By and large, a majority of the students appear for at least two of these exams, if not all. Candidates appear for physics, chemistry and mathematics for JEE (Mains) while in NEET-UG, biology replaces mathematics. These subjects are also part of the CUET-UG’s 61 domain subjects.
The objective of the proposal as stated is that students should not undergo the stress of multiple examinations while they’re being tested in the same set of subjects.
The commission is seeing the move from the point of simplifying the logistics for the aspirants as well as the National Testing Agency (NTA).
UGC is looking at building a consensus via deliberations among the stakeholders for the “single examination” so that candidates can be given the opportunity to write it twice a year.
By doing this only the government people will get benefitted whereas the pressure on the students will increase.
Also if JEE Mains is integrated with CUET then only the syllabus of class 12 will come in the exam.
We need to stop this before it is too late so please sign this petition and share with other aspirants.
