Olivia Weber started this petition to Norwin parents and

We the parents and members of the Norwin School district community are asking for a complete reevaluation of the proposed 2 day school week.

The plan set forth by the board is neither reasonable nor in line with several other bordering and nearby school districts.

The simplest plan would be to mirror Pa's phases. Green, 5 day in school option. Yellow, hybrid. Red, online only.

For working families and single parents, which is the vast majority of us, it is not feasible or possible to send a child to school 2 days a week and supplement with daycare which will not even provide for the online learning portion and also put them in the same or higher risk of exposure.

A vast majority of children do not learn or do well with online learning. It is causing irreparable stress and damage to the bright young minds that thrive on the socialization,  stability and structure of the schooling methods that have been used for decades. The hypocrisy that is taking place between limiting school yet allowing contact sports such as football,  soccer etc. is mind boggling.

Closing schools for one day mid week instead of cleaning nightly makes said cleaning nearly ineffective. Is this implying that group A cannot pass the virus between themselves but Group A can pass to group B??

Westmoreland county is below national Covid numbers and is not a hot spot.

We need to be able to choose to send our kids to the quality schooling that we intentionally signed up for in living in Norwin.  We pride ourselves in being one of the best districts in the area.

This proposal is the opposite of #NORWINSTRONG, we are better than this proposal and the negative effects it will make on our students, parents,  teachers and community. We are asking for a complete reevaluation.
