Adele Cousland started this petition to Office of the President Norwich University

With the addition of #9 of the current student behavioral contract, the University is penalizing residential students by going beyond the state guidelines. Number 9 states, "I understand that I will be restricted to campus for the fall semester and that I will not leave campus unless I have a legitimate reason, pre-approved in writing by the Commandant or Dean of Students. I understand that this restriction may be relaxed later in the semester pending the State’s guidelines respective to the COVID-19 pandemic." We ask that this be reduced to the state guidelines, to allow travel within Vermont for upperclassmen be permitted without written approval. We agree to all other conditions of the contract, and to follow VT health and safety guidelines when in public. Many students go off campus to purchase affordable necessities and should not be denied the liberties of a VT resident, as stipulated by the state mandates (this is not a plea for group gatherings). We ask that if we remain prohibited to go off campus, our parking pass fee be reduced.

Please sign and share this petition so that we are offered the same liberty as commuter students and campus staff, and the ability to purchase goods off campus.
