As a student of Jane Austen College, the redevelopment of a car park site to provide student accommodation is concerning at the least. The construction of the student accommodation will take up to three years. This plan has a massive impact on lots of peoples education. These include increased traffic, which could cause noise and students to be late to school, The fact that it will block out lots of sunlight on Jane Austen College, including the playground. The building also intends to connect to the Playhouse, whether cutting through the playground or around it. The Norwich Playhouse also has a popular student bar in it. With this being so near to student accommodation and having a direct link, could impose a threat of danger to the students and property of Jane Austen College along with the windows of the planned building looking directly into the playground. And last but definitely not least. The construction of this building will disturb our education and concentration levels. The construction is going to happen also during GSCE exams, posing a massive distraction to students during such a critical time in their education.
So, to the Norwich City Council, please reject the construction of this student accommodation, the impact is huge.
