This September on the 22nd will mark 2 years since my attack.
I wasn’t offered help or support so I ended up talking about the event very openly as I found it the only way to be heard.
Since being so open other people have came forward to me and have experienced the same situation with “not being heard”.
So either this year or next, I would like to hold an event in Alnwick, white t-shirts with blue hand prints, which will also include helplines and the words “HEAR ME ROAR” across the back.
A walk together with participants through Alnwick leading to the rugby club where I hope there will be various tents offering help, suggestions for services and a “wall of truth” where anyone can add their story or a feeling they have had since the attack and add it onto the wall.
I’d like a photographer there however they must ask people’s permission to take a photo given the subject of the event.
So far we need to know numbers of people interested in this for it to be a true success and for the cause to get the recognition it deserves.
