Tegan Bumbieris started this petition to Northshore High School and

The principal of Northshore High School—Bill Gallagher—plans to change the class colors once again to reflect the school colors. This seems like a wonderful decision, however, he plans to change seniors to Columbia blue.

Every Northshore High School student has a Columbia blue shirt. Whether it is from P.E. or the spirit shop, every student has one. Changing the senior class color to Columbia blue defeats the purpose of having the seniors be a special color, and robs many students of having the ability to have unique items compared to the other classes. Having the seniors continue to be red sets them apart from the other classes, and gives incentives for students to buy class shirts and merchandise.

Now, what he's asking to do is revert the colors to pre-2017 era class colors: white for freshmen, grey for sophomores, navy for juniors, and red for seniors. Adding Columbia blue into the mix instead of red not only clashes with navy blue, but again defeats the purpose of seniors having a special color.

I encourage anyone to sign this petition. Graduating seniors, incoming seniors, underclassmen, teachers, parents, anyone who is willing to help this cause.

Let's band together NHS and keep seniors red!
