If you've ever put your pet in the kennels on the Northlink, you will understand how detrimental it is for pet owners to be able to book a pet friendly cabin without worrying that someone else has booked it that has no pets.

The kennels are dark and at the bottom deck where all the noise is of the lorries getting anchored onto the boat. This caused my dog to have an infection in his eyes due to crying all night and has now ultimately made him a very nervous dog. Only being able to get your pets for half an hour within the 14 hours is not enough, thus again, why it's important pets stay with their owners. 

People book these pet friendly cabins because they are cheaper than booking ones that aren't. This is why I am asking for the change to have proof of Ownership for the pets as kennels are too much for their bodies to cope with.

If we win I will take this to The Scottish Government agency Transport Scotland who purchased all of the ferries used by Northlink during the 2018-19 financial year.
