Update 6/23/21

I am opening this petition to include residents, tax payers and community members of the Northern York County School District to continue to put the pressure on our school board members that we want Masks and Vaccines Optional in the 2021-2022 school year for children and staff members.  I have not changed the original petition but I just want to include community members (not just parents) considering the ARP ESSER funding requirements.

Thank you so much to all of the community members for your support and dedication for parents, staff and children to have a choice in the 2021-2022 school year regarding masks and covid shots.

By signing this petition, you agree that you are a parent or tax payer in the Northern York County School district and that masks and vaccines should be optional for children and staff members in the future.

Original Petition:

We have gone almost a full academic year with the school forcing our children to wear mask’s.  As backed by science, cloth masks not only do not protect against viruses, but can lead to additional hygienic/bacterial complications by increasing the amount of hand to mouth/face contact.

These children have limited time without masks on during the school day which we have personally seen arise new health issues amongst them, raising the question on how is mask-wearing causing more good than harm?

Children should be focusing on learning their curriculum and developing social skills and the school system, backed by our tax payer money, should be focused on educating them within that curriculum in the most efficient and safest environment possible.   Making masks priority along with social distancing attempts has not only taken away the focus on the importance of the reason our children are there, but it limits their ability to fully benefit from the resources they should be provided with.

As a taxpayer, but more importantly, a parent who vowed to be responsible by deciding what is in my child’s best interest, it should be a personal choice for my family to decide whether my child be masked or not.  I am not asking to take away the rights of the families that choose to have their child mask, I’m only practicing within my rights to choose not to.

I have included some science provided by the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons regarding mask wear:  https://aapsonline.org/now-that-we-have-a-randomized-controlled-trial-rct-about-masks-will-it-change-what-you-do/

I will be addressing the School board on May 25, 2021 at 7:00pm at Wellsville elementary school regarding the 2021-2022 school year.
Please leave a comment about your child's experience upon signing if you would like to be advocated for and I will address those concerns at the school board meeting.

Thus far, the school board officials, the superintendent and the principals of the schools at NYCSD have all stated that this matter is "out of their hands" they must follow the department of education and department of health regulations to remain open. I say our district has a choice to remain open and to at the same time, be a leader in advocating for children's rights. It's time our school district and officials step up to the plate.

Stop the child abuse.  Unmask the children.

Here is a link that provides an open letter that you can edit to conform to your school officials from America's Frontline Doctors with information and facts about children being masked.  Feel free to edit to your liking and send to your school officials:  https://www.americasfrontlinedoctors.org/legal/masks-the-law

By signing this petition, you agree that you are a parent  for the Northern York County School district and that masks and vaccines should be optional for children and staff members in the future.
