Northern Rivers NSW emergency disaster flood funding

Northern Rivers NSW emergency disaster flood funding
Why this petition matters
The Northern Rivers region has experienced the worst floods in this region's history. The contents of thousands of people's lives have been destroyed along with their homes.
It has impacted many large and broad areas such as Main Arm, Mullumbimby, Wilsons Creek, Burringbar, South Golden, Lismore, Chinderah, Kingscliff, Murwillumbah, Ballina and more. We have no phone reception, little to no internet, and people are having trouble communicating with each other and checking their loved ones are safe. Many people are sacrificing their lives to help flood victims rebuild what's left of their homes but we need help!
There needs to be a state of emergency declared. Our State and Territory authorities have a constitutional duty to respond to natural disasters and emergencies. We need the state government to apply for EMERGENCY FUNDING and resources from the federal government. We need help from the police force, army, and defence force. It is imperative that trucks be used to clear debris, 4WD vehicles be used to reach landslide areas, and helicopters be used to rescue those still stranded in our hinterlands. In addition to doctors, nurses, and therapists, we need many other professionals as well.
Floating cars have been turned upside down, mud and debris cover roads, bridges, and streets. Hundreds of our beautiful community drop everything to walk from house to house, asking what they can do for them. The mud waters and sewerage have risen so high that people are ripping up carpet, ripping down walls, and disabling car batteries. A lot of power has been disconnected and the town's water supply has been contaminated. Fresh water supplies are running low and the town's water supply has been cut off. Fuel is scarce in our towns, with limits on how much can be bought by each person, and food is running out FAST. Due to the outage of the cell towers, ATMs are out of cash and cards cannot be used.
The word I would use to describe this event is apocalyptic. There is only so much that we can do, we need PROFESSIONAL HELP.
