How to stop misuse, vandalism, littering and negative environmental impact on a piece of remnant bushland.
Allenby Park is a small piece of remnant bushland on Sydney's Northern Beaches. This little gem is no more than a couple of kilometres long that, surprisingly, is home to a family of wallabies and a Powerful Owl amongst other wildlife. Its trails are used as shortcuts between the suburbs of Allambie and the shopping centre and light industrial area of Brookvale and they are used by people like myself, runners and just people looking for a little bush haven retreat in between the roads and the houses.
Some time ago, Warringah Council (The Northern Beaches Council) put two picnic tables at the Clearview Place end of the Reserve.
In the 3 years since I moved my business into the area, I have never once seen anybody having picnic.... but I have seen plenty of kids smoking weed and drinking here.
If there was nowhere for them to sit the problem would not exist.
Let's get the council to remove the seats and regenerate the area.
