NEU 2021 Undergraduate Commencement - Redistribute Ceremonies by College!
Why this petition matters
The Class of 2021 at Northeastern University is so grateful to be able to graduate with an in-person ceremony this upcoming May in Fenway Park. However, with two separate ceremony times for Undergraduates, the reasoning behind having randomized groups feels unfair given how much time we spend with those in our respective colleges from the time that we choose our LLC in our first year, to passing students in the hallway, to taking classes together, and ultimately creating many memories together as a class.
We propose that the Commencement Office should reconsider redistributing the Class of 2021 ceremonies by college. Using the Northeastern University Facts and Figures published from 2019, the most even distribution amongst the undergraduate population could potentially be to group together: Group 1) Bouve College of Health Sciences, College of Professional Studies, D'Amore-McKim School of Business, and Khoury College of Computer Sciences & Group 2) College of Arts, Media, and Design, College of Engineering, College of Science, and College of Social Sciences and Humanities.
