Update 03/10/2020:  The original graph indicated a 36% difference in salary packages within a 5-month period, although if we include the estimated healthcare that was provided by the School Corporation to prior Superintendent Springer, then I believe it is a 20% difference - just clarifying why the face page of the Petition has a different percent listed. It does not change any other stats on the graph and if this contract is approved, then Dr. Syverson would be one of the highest (if not the highest) paid Superintendents for a District of our size in the State of Indiana.

--------------

The North West Hendricks School Board has recommended a proposed Contract for our District's next Superintendent and they plan to hold a 30-minute public meeting tomorrow (March 10th from 6:30-7:00 p.m. at the Middle School).  If several people want to speak during the short 30-minute timeframe in order to express any concerns and/or objections to this Contract then the chances are very good that not everyone will be able to have their voice heard.

Consequently, this Petition to Object will allow anyone who resides within the North West Hendricks School District to express their concerns and Object to the School Board President, James Diagostino's, proposal to hire the next Superintendent with a salary package starting at $178,200.00. If this Contract is permitted to go forward, this would enable Dr. Scott Syverson to become one of the highest paid, if not the highest, Superintendent for a District of our size (approx. 1,800 students) in the State of Indiana (see chart above).

As Dr. Syverson's CV indicates per his LinkedIn, he last worked as an Administrator in a school system in 2011, which consisted of overseeing approx. 240 students.  There is no reason this proposed Contract is needed at this time, as Dr. Syverson is currently working on a Contract with our School District that is good through the end of June.  Our School District has more than enough going on right now and this is not necessary at all and can wait until early June and before his current Contract expires.

The results of this Objection Petition will be provided to the School Board by the end of this week.  Board President Diagostino has stated that the School Board will accept this proposed Contract on March 18th.
