The North Vancouver District Council is reviewing a proposal to allow the opening of a non-medical cannabis retailer at 4720 Capilano road next to the DDDN Pizza that many Handsworth students visit and hang out at regularly.

Should the proposal be accepted, the once student friendly community plaza will turn into a center for the distribution of drugs which will have a strong negative impact on the school community surrounding it. The opening of a cannabis retailer will severely increase the accessibility of cannabis to the school community.
