Even though students should try to be aware at all times of the situation around them, an outright ban on phones is too drastic. Plus, the recent tragic event that occurred has nothing to do with student phone use. There are many students, such as myself that also use our phones during break hours for educational purposes, such as using online textbooks, accessing online notes, or working on online assignments. All this proposed ban will do is cause resentment towards the school and hinder students’ access to online resources.
