The new logo for NQHS is very offensive. They have removed the Yakoo Native American logo to a white soldier from colonial eras in America and Europe, the same portrayal that students decided to remove because it depicted a native in the wrong way. Sorry but RACISM IS UNIVERSAL. People do not get special treatment. We should not have a colonial era “Patriot” be portrayed for whites when our culture is much more than that. We should not have a Native American “Yakoo” be portrayed for natives when their culture is much more than that. These statements are both true but if we want to fight racism we have to fight it for all cultures.
