North Lanarkshire Council have decided not to fund Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Unemployed Workers Centre (CKUWC) after 31st March 2018. We provide welfare rights advice/income maximisation to everyone whether they are working or not. We help people in Cumbernauld, Kilsyth, Moodiesburn, Croy and the surrounding villages. Many of our clients are elderly, in poor health and very vulnerable and they depend on our service. From April 2017-February 2018 we have realised gains in the local community of over £1 million. We have also attended 140 Social Security tribunals for local people who have been refused benefits such as Personal Independence Payment and Employment and Support Allowance. Please sign the petition to save this vitally needed service for the local community.
